Hi There,

Just bought a Jamrt Arizona (I believe it to be a 2002 model, but how can i confirm?) and was wondering if anyone can give me advice on setting the awning / tent up? I got aprox 3/4 of the way through and hit a dead stop - plenty of poles left but unsure where they went.

I had to pack it away then as I had to go to work (I was building it on my drive). It mentions in the multi language instructions and i quote - pull out the 3 telescopic ridge poles and assemble the awning frame (see the frame plan) - my questions are - when it says pull out the the 3 telescopic ridge poles - are they in the main tubes of the trailer tent body - or are they poles that i have to insert into the main body (from my large bag of poles) as all i can see in the main tubes of the body are what appear to be plastic liners on the iside of the tubes.

Also does anyone have a copy of the afore mentioned frame plan they can e-mail or post me - I am happy to pay any costs incurred (or buy you a pint if i see you on a site anywhere)

Hope you guys can help as you seem a friendly bunch

Cheers

Fresno Bob

p.s - is a Jamet Arizona a  good choice?

Hi Bob,

We have a Jamet Lousianne and I remember the hard times and arguements trying to assemble the blooming awning with the rubbish instructions supplied.

The 3 telscopic poles you refer to should already be in the main tubes in trailer tent body, just pull them out and fix the assembled frame to them. I can email you a scan of the sketched instructions that we have, hopefully they are not too different from the Lousianne. Once we had the frame assembled, we marked each pole with different coloured insulation tape, this helps sooo much!

One tip, before you attach the frame, you should zip the awning canvas to the trailer and fold it over the top of the trailer, then once the frame is attached you can just pull it over the frame.

Hopw this helps.

Jeff

Hi Jeff and Shelley,

whatever pictures, scans, e-mails you can send me will be great. shelley should I e-mail you my address?

With reference to the poles already in the trailer body that the rest of the awning attach to, all i can see is the white tube of the body with what looks to be a plastic lining tube inside, is the the pole or does the pole sit inside the plastic liner? if that is the case, could the inner telescopic pole have slid to far back out of site?

Thanks for your help

Lee

It does sound like the poles have slid too far inside the main frame poles. If they have, you may be able to prize the plastic end caps from the other end of the trailer poles and push the telescopic poles out. Do you still want the plan of the pole layout?

Yes a copy of the pole layout would be great, the more i have to work with the better.

Is there supposed to be a thin plastic lining tube inside the main body tubes?

Hi Lee,

Let me know your email address and I'll send a pdf of the layout. I don't think that there should be a lining tube, have you tried pulling that out, it may be connected to the main metal tubes.

Hi Jeff,

My e-mail is

lee.luke at ntlworld.com

the 'lining tubes' appear to be fixed inside the metal tubes, but i didnt really pull to hard on them.

Looking to try again Monday afternoon weather permitting.

If I have no joy, do you mind if i take some pics and e-mail them to you?

Cheers

Lee

Good afternoon all,

I have just collected a Jamet Arizona Trailer Tent (bought from E-Bay), and all looks in good condition, with plenty of duplicated camping items.

However, when I emptied the awning pole bag, loads of bits of insulation tape fell off the poles.

I do have a couple of queries:

1,  Does anyone have a diagram of the pole layout that i could have a copy of?

2,  I have the chassis number - how can I find what age my trailer tent is?

Many thanks in advance

Dave (dave.hornby at fsmail.net)
