Having problems with the leisure battery. Seems to be fully charged because we charged it at home and it looked charged, will light up the bulb on a tester. When we put it in the unit and connect it up it says no charge, if we run the unit charger it charges but still will not hold the charge, as soon as we switch the charger off the needle drops and we loose all power. If we turn the charger back on it says fully charged.
Does anyone know if this is a battery problem or a fault with the battery charge indicator unit.
Put the car battery in to test the system. Its not good in the long term but will tell you if its the camper or the battery. John says are the connections to the battery good ?

Maybe worth getting battery tested at a car / caravan / fc dealers? They use a rig with big resistors in it to test the battery and how well it can deliver power. If they say it is dead then buy another hehehe
So when it is plugged into the car with the switch on car and the charger off what does the meter say then. According to my beloved it should show full. Once you are on hookup it shows full even with no battery in.

Well thanks all for your thoughts and comments. We seem to have solved the problem.
Hubby went out this morning and traced the (excuse the 'technical' jargon here) thick black wire from the outside battery compartment in to the unit and found another fuse. NOT in the main fuse panel on the charger but on the inside of the outer wall of the camper unit itself, high up under the seat and not visible unless he lay down on the camper floor and put his head in the seat unit. We really thought we knew where all fuses were and saw no reference to this in the pennine mannual.
Yellow 20 amp fuse blown, this was in a small clear cover as i say hidden from view on a normal glance in. So hopefully we should be okay now. Thought I'd let people know incase same happens to them.
