There are various options, which boil down to three ways:
1) zip on canvas, erect poles underneath it (difficult and prone to damage)
2) zip on canvas, fold back over the cabin, erect awning frame to 1/2 up position, fold canvas back over frame (easiest method when by yourself, more time consuming than option 3)
3) 1/2 erect frame, pull up canvas and zip on, fully erect frame (not so good if you are short).
