Looking at a Crusader or Pathfinder. Our trailer tent is fine but with 3 young kids , every time we go camping it is like a divorce looming as i struggle to erect the thing.

I would like to think that a two night stop we can have no awning, any longer than that then with awning.

So , how long for the camper then the awning.

We have the crusader, for us to completely set up including sky TV... 2 hours which I think is very good as it is not rushed.  Cabin only including linings curtains etc, water & electric less than half an hour.  The awning takes longer but each time we are improving. We also build 2 tables, a dog cage, and one of those double larder type units, lay the groundsheets, get the toilet flush filled.  Job done in 2 hours.  Oh, gas bottles connected and side skirts on too within that 2 hours. 

Now you will read posts of much faster erection but on average I would say 2 hours to be completed is more realistic, it may even take a bit longer to start with, our longest time was about 3 hours.

The times I quote above are for the complete job done, pegging all points and guys, bedroom window supports etc, all little jobs but they add to the time.  If you want a cup of tea then 2 Hours 5 mins.

The key we found Mick is to sort whose job is whose to compliment each other rather than be under each others feet. Basically we do the cabin folding out together then I do inside whilse OH does outside. We only just got camper but the old tt which needed awning up each time was 2 hours. That was inc loo/elec/gas/table/pegs/bed made the lot ready for bed or tea.

Our last trip was the first one in the fc and the first time no awning and we were 1 hour till all completely done but it was alot less rushed as we felt that if it rained it did not matter so much you could have a breat and carry on or not bother with the awning until it was nice. We did however use the under beds and skirts to store alot so we were tidier inside.

There is a knack to it just hang in there.

Same as Crazyplace - We fold it out together but then he does all the pegs/poles and I do inside/water/waste.  If we leave curtains/liners in from last visit then 30 - 45 mins in all.  Skirts/Awning takes about 20 mins.  Always have a nice cold beer as we start... makes it so much nicer....

Initial days nearly the war courts.  OH running around trying to do everything and not letting me help but tg this has now stopped.

it is like everything in life , it gets easier with practise i reckon from arriving to main cabin up and habitable 20 to 30 mins , awning can be another 30 to 40 mins ,but that is the same with all awnings, as you have to go round knocking pegs in and building frame no matter what unit you have.

Main unit pull up on pitch , level up , wind legs down , fold over  transit cover , pull rear bed out , pull front bed out , step inside and and push both centre poles straight ,pull two side poles out frame done exterior canvas tensioned , step out side fasten elastics under beds front and back ,and drop bed supports onto chassis ,, inside, lift wardrobe up, lift cooker and sink from floor onto side, plug water and electric in , lift toilet frame in place, fit door , hang rear half of roof liner , lift bed pods fronts up and clip on , sit down and make cup of tea relax you can fit curtains on later , the main thing to remeber is you are on holiday it is not a olympic sport to see who can get it up the fastest , enjoy the more of you their are ,more jobs to delegate

Normally 25 to 40 minutes depending on if its raining .The only time we use our awning is for the 2 week summer holidays and we had 3 teenagers camping with us ,now only have the 2 girls as son ventured out into the big wide world working away from home after leaving school in June.

about thirty mins for us to awning between 30 to 40 mins but dont use this on weekend stops we each have our designated jobs mine is in side hubbys is the outside water electric toilet flush water side skirts etc etc

we found this worked the best
