Hi Folks,

It may seem like a stupid question but does anyone use airbeds on top of he original bed or is the matress good enough for a good nights sleep?

We`re going away this saturday for the first time..any feedback appreciated

Hi Mick, having tried both, we much preferred the TT own matress, and found them very comfie. What TT do you have?

I have to admit i often thought about an airbed in the old tt after a few nights i could feel bones a bit. The new one seems to have a thicker foam mattress and is better.

We have to use an airbed as ours didn't come with a mattress.

We also use two duvets and have two pillows each.

We used the old foam mattresses once, and then one sore back later we bought an aerobed: the only airbed worth having imo as it never, but never deflates. I also made a couple of leather covers for the joints on the frame which would otherwise chafe on the bed. Really good night's sleep, so long as you use two underblankets to wick away the moisture.

We use the foam mattress from our old Conway tt underneath the mattress on ours, and it's lovely and comfy. We also have sheets, duvet and two pillows each.

Just as a tip for the bedding in tt's, we've found that a single duvet cover works really well as a bottom sheet for the mattress, you can get cheap budget ones from any supermarket for less than £5.
We tried a blow up mattress last year on our old conway corniche and couldn't get on with them and decided to put up with a firm bed...

As your unit is only a couple of years old the foam should be fine on its own.

Hi all, we used an airbed on one side of our Conway Corniche, until we managed to get a TT for repairs, which had 2 mattresses. We sold the Corniche, but still have a conway matress in fair condition, for sale for £5.00.

                                         Ann.

It will also fit other Conways, as it came off a 'Conway Campa'.

Hi

Bit late for your trip tomorrow, but if you're still looking for some extra comfort memory foam mattress toppers were recommended to me.  I'll be ordering one next week after first trip away last weekend.

The advantage of the airbeds is that there's no extra work to do, just leave them strapped to the mattresses.

Hey guys

We use a single sleeping bag as a sheet (unzipped) on our TT it is warm and snuggly.  In the south of France we just used a sheet as the sleeping bag underneath us was far too warm and sticky :)

Enjoy your weekend!!!

Graffam C&CC 7th -10th Agust, would love to me some of you

Take care Sharron and Ian

Oops!  What I meant to say was:

The advantage over an airbed is that there's no extra work to do, just leave them strapped to the mattresses.

Anyway, let us know how you got on with your first trip.
