Hi can any of you tell me how to clean and reproof canvas. There are few bird dropping marks on roof so would like to try and remove them. The last time the tent was reproofed was 3 years ago i've been told so i think the canvas needs reproofing. Also how often does this need to be done.

  Thanks Jo

Dont use a cleaner, we did on our camplet and it bleached the areas we cleaned. search the posts, but from memory, after we tried to be clever, we where advised to brush it off when dry. not sure how often you need to reproof, I suppose it depends on how often, and in what conditions its used.

Just brush off the bird droppings, then just dampen a piece of kitchen roll with water and wipe it off.A tent should last longer than 3 years after re-proofing.We had a Comanche TT for 8 years,we never re-proofed it and it never leaked.I suppose its how long its been used in the 3 years. We only used ours about 4 weeks a year.

I am just about to clean and reproof my sunncamp canvas. I have done a lot of reading and found nikwax tech wash and cotton proof to be the one for me, as you can clean and re-proof while wet/damp. I have used nikwax on my walking boots and it's realy good stuff. Good luck, and "Carry on Camping"
