OK so I know that there has been a lot written on awnings but eh search facility hasn't been working for a couple of days and I can't remember seeing this specific query.

We can put the awning up no problem but it sags at the front. We just cannot seem to adjust the poles correctly so that it looks ok. If we loosen/tighten one it affects others. Very close to despair with the b####y thing

Any advice gratefully received.

Heidi

They are low at the front. John's technique is to stretch the three main roof poles so it takes up the slck and thenstretch the gable so the poles run parallel to the ground and in line with the reinforcement on the roof. We did find in the beginning that it was lower at the front than we thought it would be but looking at others on a pennine rally we realised that was right. Then we bung in the last two poles in line again with the bit on the door panels that is reinforced.

My awning looks like a sack of spuds has been thrown at the front of my pathfinder!!!! Cant get it to look good at all. But..... it still keeps the rain out.

We have solved the problem of the saggy awning.

What a pair of numpties - we had the front window panes mixed up.We have 3 degrees between us and couldn't work that out! Can't say that the finished product was perfect, but it held its own amongst all the posh awnings on the campsite.

After 5 trips away I finally feel like we know our camper better and all its quirks. Can't wait for next summer.
