Something else we need to attend to before our two week holiday and would appreciate some advice from the experts out there!

The hot water tap (Whale Elegance mixer tap unit) is not working in the bathroom sink and after testing we think it is probably the microswitch that needs replacing.  The query we have is with how to access it in order to replace the microswitch.

Is the best way to unscrew the tap from the top and pull the whole unit upwards - we weren't sure whether there would be enough give in the pipes to do this?  The alternative is to have the sink unit folded over and try to get to it from behind but the screws look impossible to remove from that angle!

If anybody has attempted a repair on their mixer tap in the Pathfinder bathroom unit we would appreciate their advice as to the best way to disassemble it.

Many thanks in anticipation!

Hi there

We have a 2001 model - if it is just a plastic clip then that would be so simple!  I had visions of unscrewing taps and dismantling the whole unit to gain access.

Does your tap look like this (except in white)?  Could you describe where the plastic clip is?  We had a little look when we last had the Pathfinder up and couldn't see anything obvious to unclip.  We have been advised that the microswitch is held within the white plastic bit with the three screws on top but this may not be correct!

Hi if you see the flat pieces with the two lugs to the side of the screws  that is where micro switches and the clips go,

hope that helps a little

regards

Mark
