Hi all

I want to put up some mirrors in my Comfortmatic on the top half of the door, on the 'flap' above the cooker, and above the settee on the solid wall.  I want to use safetly mirrors, but how can I attach them?  Also they come in different thicknesses from 2mm up - which thickness should I chose?

Any help will be most appreciated.

Thanks

Jackie

Pop down to B&Q and they do special sticky pads for attaching mirrors to walls, very strong and wont fall off, just stick 4 or 6 on the back then stick it to the wall, make sure both surfaces are completly clean and grease free before you do it.

As for thickness, 2mm seems a bit thin, most mirrors in caravans are probably 4 - 6mm pop into a caravan dealer and look inside one.

Might be worth putting a foam pad over it during transit if it folds down onto another object though.

I can see where you're trying to achieve.  I was thinking the same.  The back top flap opens up for ventilation so the mirrors will be facing downwards when flap is open.  they'll have to stick well.  The back panel stows flat on the floor in transit so nor problems here except protection from pressure breaks.

Not too sure about behind the settee as that folds down and flexes while doing so.  Also will add weight to the wall.  Keep us informed!

have to be careful the sticky pads dont pull the "wallpaper" off the wall. B&Q do flush picture hooks. One slides into the other.

From my past experience putting anything onto the walls in a Rapido with any form of sticky pads etc has always been a disaster. Rapido walls are prone to condensation during the night etc and we have had cup hooks and other things fall from walls in the middle of the night.

If fixing anything into the walls make sure you don't go through it like a friend of mine did with a 3 inch nail

We have put a full length shelf in ours using keyhole mirror plates. I believe the Rapido wall is about 8mm thick and I used tiny brass 6mm screws to secure the plates making sure they don't come out of the other side of the van.

But back to the mirror, I have seen mirror on a roll which unfolds and sticks on with blue tack. Probably the safer method. The only snag is that I can't remember where I have seen it.

Anyhow I hope my input has helped and please correct me if I am wrong the the wall thickness.

Good luck.....Dawn

Why not get some cheap camping mirrors and position these strategically when set up?  that's what I eventually decided.   Orange framed naturally! 17
