Hi all,

New to this camping lark.

Going on our first outing next week in our Pennine clubman which we were given by a friend.

How old are these units? is there any way to tell by chassis numbers?

It needed a damn good clean, two new rear lights(friend bought them but never fitted them) two new tyres and all the awning poles needed re-springing. other than that she seems usable.

Anything I need to know before we arrive at the site.

Do some sites have regulations on how old a unit can be? Do you have to use breathable ground sheets? Plastic pegs?

Thanks

Try the Pennine head office for year if you have the chassis number.

Sites dont usually worry about the age of a unit.  Use a ground sheet only if you want, as for pegs this depends on the ground you are putting them in.

Have a great time away and I am sure other people on the site will help you if you get stuck.

Hi

I have a pennine pathfinder the last two numbers on the chassis plate is the year of manufactuer on that model i think the clubman was made between 1984 and 1991 to give you a guide

never known any restrictions as to age of unit when camping so you will have no problem there most campsites do ask you to use an eco ground sheet. up to you what pegs you use i have a variety delta ground spikes rock pegs and plastic just to be on the safe side as unsure of what the ground is going to be like

take a pen and paper with you to write down the things you have forgotten or think you will need for next time

Most importantly though go and have a great time

still waiting for more than the odd few days of sun in ours.We have had it a year now so would love a good few days of sun and warmth on the trot.....

we've been toying with the idea of getting a Caravan to site down the Gower, but when i see pic's here and read the stories here i love the fact that we have one and then forget about the bliming Caravan idea.

would just love to get the chance to chill outside the F/C and chat sipping some of the red stuff, instead of saying alright to the neighbours and a quick dash inside cos of the bloody rain after all the point of the F/C for us is to have a stress free hol lol....
