I have a erde 122 trailer. We have, since purchasing this trailer, purchased a larger tent, wolf lake 7. We have a large roof box, that we would like to put on top if the trailer. Now erde do some roof bars at Halfords, but they're £100! We would like to know if there is another make that we can use, or if anyone has some suggestions for us. It's pointless us getting roof bars for the car, as we're only keeping it for another few months and we know that the next model car, the roof bars just won't fir, plus i don't want to be purchasing new roof bars every 2/3 years, everytime we change the car. Plus we have 2 different makes of cars, and therefor, it makes more sense putting the box on the trailer, were i can keep all items in the trailer more secure.
I would be very greatful for anyone who has had this dilema before and has overcome it!! (without breaking the bank!)

Hi, would imagine you would have to adapt bars designed for car cars with rain pockets, but you would have to be careful. The trouble is the trailer section has a square lip and rain pockets are quite thin,so may slip.
Erde spares are expensive, they do two different bars one been slightly different to suit ABS cover.
I had to deal with a chap the other day who adapted his vw golf bars to fit a Ford Mondao and his rack with 4 bikes on came off on the M6,lucky for everyone it landed on the hard shoulder.
So if you go down the DIY option make sure that the bars are secure or it will not be worth saving a few quid
