Hi

We are thinking about upgrading to the camplet concord from out current trailer tent which is a triango chantilly

Is it really as easy as it looks to put up and down, can any one advise how long it takes to put up and take down

how do you store the chairs / table when travelling

Our currrent trailer  has tons of room but can take up to 1 1/2 hours  to put up and after a long trip does not put you in the best of moods

thanks

You can get the tent erected and pegged out with six pegs giving you shelter from the elements in about 10 mins [once you've got the 'drill' off pat].

Then you can take as long as you like to do the rest of the pegging and sort other stuff out. It took us just over an hour to have the whole thing set up for the week. We carry our chairs, table, groundsheets, suncanopy, windbreak and other stuff on top of the trailer.

The trick is not to load it too high or the trailer cover won't fit properly.

Taking down: we pack up most things the night before. Finishing off in the morning took us about an hour last time - but then, we did have two cups of tea in that time, and my wife washed down the hob with hot soapy water. The best thing is that most of the packing can be done 'under shelter'. The final let-down and folding the trailer up takes just a few minutes.

We've switched to the Concord from tents, and find the set up a bit quicker overall, just under an hour, and the same to take it down. The big improvement though is that the vast majority of the time you are undercover, which is great. You can get a fair amount of stuff in the trailer, and it does have a rack on top as well. For us coming from having to get everything in the car its really easy, if you are used to having lots of storage in the trailer it might be a bit harder, you do tend to fill all the space you have!

All the best,

We changed from a Trigano to the concorde, have to say love it, only thing I really miss about the trigano - (which I loved as well), is the central bit by the beds -  sort of an extra room to change in.

The speed of erecting the Camplet is great, I do it with my daughter (10) and I'm only 5ft 1 - as  mentioned above, you are under cover in minutes..

- In ours I get table, chairs,  sleeping bags -(if going regularly) lights, picnic mats, groundsheet, electric stuff, small windbreak,  - in car only have loo, fridge and food box and clothes, kids, dog - can get longer and longer if you think about it..

Good luck with your decision..

If the weather is good and you have the room you can 'whiz' it up and make the bed up before you go.

I find the putting up the Camplet so easy as Jo said.  Me and my kids (7 & 8) help and its up in mins.  Like others have said the skirt, pelmit is all done under cover.  The pegging I leave to kids esspecilly when wet.  We all now have our own little jobs and it's up and down within an hour. It was a brill buy and I haven't looked back on spending money on one.

Camperlands, if you live in distance is well worth a visit and they will show you and let you try putting one up.

Good luck with your desicion

Louise

Hi,

The stuff mentioned in my list above is in the trailer, I actually have n't put anything on the top except - bikes.

In my list the table n chairs are 1 of the fold up ones with seats attached and 2 fold up chairs and a couple of the umbrella types. The underbed storage, is for bags etc once you are set up.

- Like Louise says above if you are near Northenden, Manchester, Camperlands are worth a visit, they also have a video on their website showing one being set up..

Hope this helps,

Hi,

Endorse everything going before, the finishing touches take longer than putting the thing up, Anything that doen't fit inside can go on top, as can anything wet or muddy. We purchased the exrtra large front box, pricey but worth it, it holds small portaloo, gas bottles, barbeque, water containers and a million other bits and pieces that we can't leave home without. The fridge goes in the back of the car. We reckon about two hours to pack up including breakfast and washing up! It helps to put uneeded items away the night before. Sadly it is true, the more space you have the more you take! We now include cushioned sun loungers because they can be carried on top! Many years ago we managed with a two man dome tent and a borrowed cooker on the tail-gate of our pick-up van.
