Well what a summer had the TT out only 4 times this year 3 weekends and one week and i have decided to pack it away untill next year as i cannot see the weather inproving. Sad
We are doing the same .... sad but true this has not been the best year for going back to camping after 12 years absence ... BUT WE WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR !!!!!!
It will be better next year or we shall all be hardened to it and not notice so much !!!

I may seem a bit odd but I have three bolts which say my head IS screwed on the right way
Yes, we're looking to buy a new TT after a 5 year camping break and people are already looking at us as if we've gone completely mad! However our reasoning is that camping at least allows the flexibility to pack up and come home. This year we booked two weeks in a static hire caravan in Cornwall which cost £700, plus £200 in petrol and heaven knows how much in entry fees to NT properties and the like just to get out of the rain. It rained on and off for the whole fortnight. The frustrating part was that whilst it was raining in Cornwall, the weather forecasts were showing sunshine in Norfolk. If we'd been in a tent, we'd just have packed up and relocated!
Come on you lot, packing everything away the first week in September is a bit defeatist. I know that it isn't fun camping in a flooded field and that you have to cut your outings short sometimes but lets get back out there and try again, thats what camping is all about, not sitting at home dreaming about it.

------------- Some people have nothing much to say, but you often have to listen for a while before you realise it!
my tt is packed away now also ,cant think of anything worse than sitiing in a tent in the rain and cold,(did that witsun 4 a week )would prefer to sit on the settee with the radiators on , if we do by some slim chance get a dry weekend i may drag the tent out of the loft 4 a few nights ,we will see ,
going to margate st nicolas de wade in two week and another couple of camps before christmas it gets a bit cold but wi fire goin some wine beer brilliant
We packed away the TT - failed totally this year, managed FOUR nights in it in the worst week weather wise North Devon could throw at us! We got it all bone dry and decided that we would get it packed up whilst we had the chance... we have had a couple of weekends in the tents
Still have the Guadaloupe and Noumie and hope for a weekend in the next few weeks...
were of for the next two weekends,at american car shows,we have been out only around 5 times this year and theres been rain each time,,,,, the dandy has been a godsend...had ten years of drafty damp tents.....
I'm totally gutted we probably wont get away again this year. We bought our fc in May and I've been addicted ever since. I am now 6 months pregnant though and each time it's been harder so what with the awful weather, the expanding bump and the need for the toilet about 4 times a night I've almost given up on any more trips.
If the weather was better I wouldn't mind the middle of the night walks to the toilet but as it's all rain and dampness at the moment, it's not too apealing.
If we get a short spell of dry weather, I might get her out one last time for a 2 night trip locally but it'll be next year now before we go away again properly.
