Hi,

I don't think we'll get away again in the FC this year - boo hoo - mostly due to the poor weather and that I'm 6 months pregnant so I'm thinking we may need to prepare the camper for winter.

I have friends with fc's who take out the mattresses etc but ours is stored in the garage, so other than giving her a good clean outside and in, is there much else to do to prepare her for winter?

Thanks
C x

I take out the roof liner and bedroom pod thingys, duvet covers, sheets and pillow cases. I leave in the mattresses, duvets, and seat cushions and I store the pillows and cushions in the wardrobe.

Try to open it up once a month to let the air circulate and you shouldn't have a problem. Ours is stored outside 24/7.

i hadn't thought about the bedroom pod thingys! I think I will take them out and maybe the curtains etc, give it all a good wash and keep it inside until we're ready to take her out again.

I'll take the sleeping bags out too and that should be it as I don't store sheets and pillow cases in there.

Is electrical stuff like the TV, microwave, kettle all ok left in there?

Forgot about the curtains, I do take those out as well. We leave all the electrical items, cutlery, pots pans etc in there. Don't forget to check your food cupboards.

With regards to washing curtains etc. I always wash mine at the beginning of the next camping season rather than the end of the last one as it makes every thing smell fresher.

Just make sure you clean out all traces of any foodstuffs - it's surprising where biscuit crumbs can get to - to discourage Mickey Mouse's relatives. I've always left everything in except foodstuffs over winter and I keep mine outside. Means if there is a nice weekend we can get away.
