Hi folks, I would like to say a big hello on this section of the forum as I am probably about to move over from the 'camping under canvas' forum.
I have agreed to purchase a 2002 pennine f/c and am going to collect it on Sat (weather permitting).
I have never had or stayed in a f/c before and really looking forward to it so I will be glued to these pages over the next few days gathering as much info that I can.
I probably wont give up my tent camping full stop ( I am a cub scout leader anyway so have to do some tent camping) but will probably sell my larger family tent.
No way was I going to get a caravan so I hope all works out well with the f/c. I just wish it was the beginning of the season instead of the end but should hopefully get at least two weekends in before the end of Oct (during the promised indian summer thats due ha). Anyway no doubt I will be talking with some of you soon.
Cheers for now,
John

Hi Jan, I will only be going when I can see it up etc, no rush. It's the sovereign model but with all the extras ie hot water, external elec point bbq point awning, things like that.
I know that they were only made for a short time and originally did want a conway with the slide out beds but getting this for a good price (I think).
Speak to you soon
John

Hi John

We have just done the same, we popped in to have a look at F/Cs whilst on holiday in Cornwall over the BH weekend and came away having purchased a 2000 Conway Cruiser with loads of extras.  We have also sold our Monty 6 and a load of kit - it went really quickly.  We are also Scouters, me, I'm a Beaver leader and my other half is a Scout leader.  Like you I will be soaking up all the tips I can gather before picking up the F/C on the 27th September and are even hoping to go away at the tail end of the half term hols.

Enjoy your new F/C.

We bought an fc this year after never having even heard of them before, a friend had one and showed me and I decided there and then I had to have one. Luckily we found a brilliant 04 Cruiser and I haven't looked back since. We absolutely love it and so does our little boy.

Hope you get away before the end of the year!

Only a few days to go now, can't wait.
First question, with a folding camper, would you join the camping and caravan club or just the caravan club as I quite like the sound of the cl/cs sites?
Thanks
John

We joined the C&C Club and would recommend it ,especially if you decide to venture abroad for your holidays as they book it all for you sire ,ferries etc and the price is very competitive.Good luck with your camper ,just make sure that if ever you put it away wet following a downpour then open up asap on a dry day though im sure you are already aware of that tenting etc.You will find that the people here are a friendly bunch with a wealth of knowledge .

I'm in the CC and rate them, its down to the individual and if you fit the criteria to join I dont think theres a lot to choose site wise.

Join both maybe?

Well I am now the proud owner of a pennine f/c. People I was buying it from had it set up for me when I got there so that I could look it over. They then gave a step by step instruction on how to pack it away, put it up again and then put it away again.Couldn't put the awning up due to lack of space but looks like its all there. Hoping to take it over to my parents tomorrow as they have the space to set it all up, have a play and hopefully get out in it next weekend.
(Jan P, I knew the weather would be kind today)

How about joining the owners club (link below)this year the club charged £20 for a two night weekend break and £36 for a bank holiday weekend, regardless of how many were stopping in your camper.

Congratulations on the new toy.
