hi i own a conway olympia which we have had for 3 years now,the people we bought it off,had proofed it the year previous to us buying it.But last year we camped in quite bad snow, which we had to scrape of the roof of tent with a broom, which wouldnt have done the canvas any good.So please could someone give me a name of a good proofer that trigger sprays on and is best for canvas rather than the stuff for the poxy nylon tents please? We bought some fantastic stuff couple of years ago for one of our other tents and it was brilliant but unfortunately neither myself or my husband can remember what it was called lol,and we checked shop on line and it doesnt stock it any more ;-[ SO PLEASE CAN SOME NICE PERSON HELP US OUT,PREF BEFORE EASTER,ITS OUR FIRST TRIP OUT THIS YEAR!!!
THANKS JULIE X
Fabseal is what you need.it comes in a spray bottle or you can get a bigger bottle and decant it into a spray bottle.it's good stuff!

The best product for waterproofing your Conway Olympia is Grangers Grangersol, ( I think thats what its called ) Buy it in a litre container and transfer it to a one of those garden sprays sold in B & Q with a flexible spray lance. Once you have pumped the pressure up you will find that it will give a very even spray that is easy to apply.
Fabsil is the posh version, Thompsons Water seal does just as good a job at half the price. Just don't put it on too thickly...two thin coats are better than gloops. And let it dry out really well before packing up.
I don't think that brushing snow of your camper will have damaged either your canvas or waterproofing, As for reproofing after only 4 max 5 years unless not done properly the first time or used a lot in sunnier climes it should be perfectly ok I use both fabsil for my newer tents and Thomsons for my older tents where the canvas is well worn thomsons has a higher wax content than fabsil so is the better choice for old canvas. My tents have not been reproofed for at least ten years and some for a lot longer than that and up untill a few years ago were used in all weathers and often
