Munglie and I have a Cabanon Saturn tent on a Conway trailer - the previous owners of which had bolted one of those plastic garden storage boxes. (http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav/skins/popups/scene7.jsp?skuId=10647428)
It was ace (bigger than any other box we've seen since), but it's been stored in the garage with stuff on top of it and we've noticed that the corners have started to come adrift and we're not confident that it will hold together ...so it's repair time!
Sadly - I've got no idea what to do. I did toy with the idea of either panelling the inside with plywood but I figure I may as well just make a wooden box if I'm doing that.
The other option I could think of was to get some kind of metal banding/brackets and handrivet them on - but I figure that this will only be as strong as the plastic.
If anyone has any suggestions, then I'd be really grateful.
hows about some right angle brackets in the corners to hold it all in?? and some some silicone..ours had a reinforced base with wood and that worked great :)

inside if poss but out maybe better?? and bolted, but make sure you use silicone in the holes aswell to stop any wet getting in...
we just strengthened ours at the base wood inside and out,we were thinking of getting the brackets but we really didn't need them at all..we used to store gas bottle,EHU leads, windjammers and lots of other stuff :)
thats our box on front of old TT
but the bracket thing i reckon would work :D

Have you thought what a copper would say when they catch you on the motorway when a broken lid with a home made repair comes adrift & causes a pile up? If it aint built to be evposed to travelling at speed then should it be on your camper?
The other issue is noseweight. What load does this thing put on your hitch? Is the trailer built to cope with this?
If i had any doubt that my box would of been unsafe i would of not put it on in the first place,I have seen numerous TT's with them on prior to us buying one for our old Camplet,I also made sure of the noseweight issue aswell it was a perefectly useable and safe box and would recommend it to anyone :)

hi when i put my box on i used some stuff called stikaflex which is used in the automotive industry to stick windscreens in so its good enough to hold them in should be no problem mines been on for three years now
------------- LIFE IS A DREAM AND REALITY IS NO BETTER
We have a Conway box attached in front of our Sunncamp TT. The day after we bourght it last year there was a massive storm - blew the lid right off. My OH fixed it with some sort of fibreglass weld stuff that is reputed to be as strong if not stronger than the original material. The only problem is that he is snoring (incredibly loudly!) on the sofa right now so you'll have to wait till tomorrow to find out what he used.
I am really cautious, the base is re-inforced with ply and the box is held on with 4
u-bolts.
The cautious bit is the 4 ratchet straps I have just in case. There are 2 which go round the sides of the box (including fron and back) with 2 smaller ones which go round the bottom and over the lid.
The only reason I do this is that I failed to lock a roof box once and it came open driving along a motorway. We were so lucky it was very quiet.
