Hi all

Looking forward to breaking out the tent again this year but was wondering what the rest of you do about a groundsheet?

Last year we had two small(ish) laid side by side and they kept moving and sand etc. got trappen in between etc. etc. etc.

Is there a groundsheet big enough to cover the main awning in the Trigano Chantilly?

SF

I would suggest a large PVC groundsheet which you can get from most of the online camping stores e.g. www.dpbolvw.net/click-1428744-10475506?url=http://www.outdoormegastore.co.uk . I also notice that World of Camping is doing a really large carpet (basically two Outwell ones joined together) at £49 which I'm tempted by (having had a carpet in the Outwell we had previously).

luckily we had one in ours but we bought in a sale a pond liner for future use ,its black though
avoid those blue/green tarps they rustle in the wind and dont last long (the damp seems to impregnate them)

i use a couple of large waterproof groundsheets ,  pegged down in the the awnig then a breartable on top for extra comfort , and they fit ok , i have a conway explorer tt which is ths same size as yours . , dont just use breathable , it bogs inside if the weather is really bad .

Hi there

We got pvc groundsheets when we bought our TT from Camperlands - haven't used them, don't fancy having to clean/dry them.

We have a roll of polythene, bought from a builders merchant - £15 for 4m x 25m - this lasts well over a season.  (It's what they call temporary polythene sheeting.) It's a metre long roll,  cut to required length and we unfold once to give us 2metres double thick. We use two of these and then have a breathable ground sheet on top.

the polythene keeps the underside of groundsheet clean, so we can just fold it up and pack away and we just throw the used polythene- if wet away. It's also handy to have extra polythene to wrap anything that's got wet - to transport home. The roll can be folded in 2.

We also bought a couple of 4' x 4' tarps for the cupboard - which we use as the toilet cubicle - from poundland - these have been handy. One trip we were in a very wet pitch and we put one at the entrance with a really expensive rug (£1 from IKEA) 3' x 2' just to wipe your feet. The rug washes up great.
