I am thinking about getting a gas outlet fitted to our Pathfinder. Are there any pro's/con's to this or am I just as well to get a long hose & regulator and scramble under the bed and hook up to the spare gas bottle. Advice please.

Mind you I suppose I could lift the spare bottle out.......

I think that the maximum hose length is 3 meters. We just use a spare bottle to be honest.

My Pathfinder came with one fitted which i sometimes use when the awning is not attached. I agree with Lisa we were told the maximum hose lenght was 3 meters so when the awning is used you end up cooking very close to the canvas. We find it easier to take a spare bottle of gas .

I fitted one to our outfit and find it very convenient to use.  You have to weigh up the pros and cons as well as safety issues.  Getting a gas bottle out each time you wish to use it, connecting the regulator, making sure the connection  is gas tight as well as ensuring the bottle is fixed so that it cannot fall over compared to a one off cost and then just plugging a quick connector in???

We had one fitted and are really pleased with it. No moving the gas. The cadac lives on it all summer.

I'm thinking of fitting one to my Pennine (when I get it). Previously I've just carried a spare bottle around with me, but that's one more thing to load and unload each time.

Awning side I believe, well that's where they are on any caravan I have seen and my two local caravan dealers say that is the side they go on.

Mine is fitted on the awning side.  I usually have the barbie on the end of a 3 meter hose so that we are approx 2 meters away form the unit.

Regards Bob.

PS I have just ashort hose on the BBQ and fit an extension with quick couplers (M & F).

Ours was already t-d off in the front locker so it was just the point that needed putting in.
