I have just put a couple of pictures on my gallery if you would care to have a look of my extra kitchen unit which gives me so much extra room in my rapido.
My husband made it and it comes totally to pieces and all the parts fit in the seat boxes when folded, so it takes no room at all. We gave it a couple of coats of stain and hey presto.
I just thought it might be an idea for other users to make, we have had it 12 years now and I couldn't be without it now.
------------- Think this year is to follow old meet friends for 2014.
If you cant do someone a good turn, don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know, and little things mean much more later in life.

Makes you wonder why Rapido didn't do something like it back then. You now have the practicality of the other two models yet with the compact size. Well done Hubby.

As I was a caravan builder years ago, no way would I have a caravan holiday, so I used to be a tenter.Trouble was when you walked into our tent ,it looked like a caravan. As I had a 15cwt van, I was able to make flat pack furniture, we had a wordrobe, a kitchen unit,a full oven and believe it or not, bunk beds

As soon as I get the van up again I will get the dimensions and let you know. It really was quite simple to make with just a quick coat of varnish. So as soon as I can I will put it on here for you.....
That would be great. Thanks loads. We've just been away this weekend away in ours and can't wait to go again. We had a look but couldn't quite see how your husband had made it so looking forward to finding out. It would come in really handy to have a little bit extra storage.
I hope you had a really good weekend, you certainly had the weather.
The unit is simple to erect, everything just slots together, nothing is permanent (just like the rapido really). Like I said as soon as I get mine up I will take some photos and measurements. It won't be until the middle of the summer though. But I will try and get my old man to do a rough sketch of how it assembles if he can remember.
