Hi All

We have just got our Khyam Ontario 8 out to air,and have noticed some black mildew or damp on the roof area and sides.(i thought the tent went away completely dry but obviously not ).

Please could anyone offer any advice on how to clean this off ?,and will it damage the Canvas?

Many thanks.

Regards.

Harriet

I got some on my inner tent for the same reason. Would have sworn it was dry when it was packed away! I agree witht he previous post, it doesn'y look good but isn't bad. People have told me a very weak bleach and water solution does the trick but I am reluctant to try. Mildew is better than a big hole!

Other threads on this site about mould and mildew recommend using dilutions of Milton Sterilising solution - think you will need to use something to stop the mildew spores spreading further. Other site users might be able to direct you to the relevant message posts. Trawl around a bit....

The Milton kills spores, the stain can be cleaned a bit, but is is there to stay I'm afraid based on prior experience.
