Hi Donna, We have a 2004 Destiny and were able to purchase the prototype acrilic awning (ie first one made for destiny). The supplier was not happy with the method of attaching the awning to the body and sent the awning and camper roof away to have a zip installed. I have no idea what it was like before!
The awning poles hook into small plastic brackets which are attached to the side, just under the roof of the camper. (These brackets are obtainable from Towsure and most caravan shops). The awning is zipped to the underside of the roof from either end so that the edge of the roof covers the zip preventing rain from getting in.
I can see no reason why it would not be possible to buy a caravan awning and fit it to your camper using the same method. You would have to measure from the ground at the front up around the roof edge and to the ground at the back in order to determine the size of awning.
Regards Bob.
