Hi I posted this some tims ago. I did find a solution which was to take out the strainer part in the drain in the unit (not the sink) and cut out half of the cross fins. I think there were six there are now three. This has solved the problem because what ever goes down the sink drain will pass through the second one, it would take something the size of a cherry to block it now. Since doing this there has been no back up even from rice with onions which used to be the problem. Hope this helps. Just come back from a damp week in Pembrokeshire. Tipical we have a hot dry summer with hosepipe bans, but as soon as you go away, down comes the rain. Thinking of South of France next year.
