HI,

We've got the trailer tent out and spotted 3 pin head sized holes in the canvas, could any one advise the best thing to do please? Would we need a professional repair or could we make we make do with a patch up?

Thanks Jeanna

In the roof or on the sides?

If they're on the side and they're just pinholes then don't worry, they won't leak. I've got a couple in the back wall of my TT from when the canvas got pinched in the hinges once and they don't leak. For roof holes that size, use a circular patch of Tenacious Tape, or from spare canvas stuck on with Copydex.

Looks nice and a good family size.

It's a 4-6/8 berth Conway Camargue from 1989, with a two year old Universal sun canopy from TVS...which just happens to be made from the exact colours of old stock Conway canvas. It would match perfectly if it wasn't for 18 years of sun fading on the main unit! It's one of the batch of TTs that was made from CGI (Cabanon) canvas, so top dollar.

As for the size, it has a main section and a one metre extension section. The flagship models of each year (the Royale replaced the Camargue as the flagship model in 1990) are all much of a muchness when it comes to size...just the berth number varies as to whether they have one or two undertents and the exact layout of the awning.

Thus one cost £200 from a friend four years ago, though we'd been borrowing it for three years more previous to that. The sun canopy was £120 and we bought it a new undertent. (£50!!) Prices would be a bit higher on Ebay atm! But to be honest, if I were buying one from scratch today I'd be looking for a younger one. The chassis will go before (properly looked after) canvas, but I don't expect more than another ten years from this one.
