We really like our friends trailer tents, but with 4 children the sleeping accomodation is just too small and we don't like the idea of shoving them in the underbed compartments!!!! Are there any trailer tents that have an additional area that is seperate that you could fit two in to sleep?
It's so frustrating, because size wise they are perfect, it just seems that if you could have an extra internal or external area that was divided they would be perfect.
We don't want additional pup tents either, we are fairly happy with our current tent, it's just a bit naff if the weather is bad.
The underbed tents are really very cozy, you know. They're like big roomy pup tents, plenty of head height for sitting up and as long as they have decent quality inners (ie not the cheapie Sunnflair ones, the thick ones from Pennine/Conway or Cabanon) they are draftproof.....warmer than up top sometimes! I line the floor with a couple of cheap camping mats then put a self inflating mat on top. My kids fight over who's going to get it next. (They are girl of 7 and boy of 12...they refuse to share.)
You can get awning inner tents of course (avoid the Sunnflair ones again) and hang them from the poles, but with six you might find they cut into your living space a bit too much. How about a pop-up tent to use inside the awning that the kids can sleep in at night and that you can tuck away easily under the bed boards during the day?
There are some 6 bed ones. The Dandy Destiny sleeps six without underbed tents. There is one (a really old one mind - newer ones look a bit better!) on E Bay at the moment for less than £200.
We sleep six in our tt, sometimes we don't use the underbed tents. Our youngest (3) will sleep beside us, whilst the other 3 (10,9,6) share the other bed, works a treat for short stays. If going on holiday for a longer time we put the older two i the under bed tents with air mattress - they love it.
We have a Camplet Concorde, which will take an extra 2 person bedroom extension. We bought one with our Camplet on the basis that our girl and boy won't want to share for ever, although its yet to come out of the bag!

Combi Camper Venezia with either rear or side annexe, we like the rear annexe as both grandchildren can sleep in there & if we are on our own its our on-suite IE porta potti, clothes compartment etc. cheers, John
We put up the pup tent in the awning itself when ours were smaller. The igloo type are great, cheap as they don't need to be waterproof. You can't see the mess just zip their door up and forget them. Lindsey was nick-named tinkerbell as John put a cat bell on her zip so we heard her get up.

Hi, sorry I forgot I posted this, thanks for the replies I think we'll try and get to somewhere that we can see a few pitched. I love the idea of an annexe.
I was just going through the tent reviews but I can't seem to see any trailer tents up there, am I looking in the wrong place or are there just not any up?
