Hi, forgive my ignorance but I need to find out what the torque setting is for the wheel nuts on my Esterel. Partner said he is unwilling to take wheels off unless he has them.    Help!

If you have read my posts on Dandy wheels & suspension you'll know of the problems I have faced with the wheel nuts being over tightened.  The correct torque wrench settings & using a torque wrench would have prevented this damage & save me the problems of changing the studs!  I can't comment on anything other than Indespension 500Kg suspension units, but I'd guess that other makers settings won't be a lot different.  After contacting them, I got this reply: -

"Thank you for the enquiry, the studs you require are our part number HUAP009, they are fitted as you describe and the correct torque setting is 42 lbft.  That’s the torque setting for the wheel nuts, the centre castle nut needs to be tightened to 20 lbft then slackened off by a quarter of a turn to give the correct setting on the taper roller bearings."

Steve.
