My parents have just purchased a combicamp venenzia and awning.

They are wondering if there is any secrets as to how level the ground must be for pitching, On there first trial they levelled up the trailer and then unfolded the camper but the base bottomed out before it pulled the canvas tight so we turned  round the trailer 180 degrees so as the ground was running away from the camper this pulled the canvas tight but the floor was in a terrible slope, packers were then placed under the metal frame work to level the floor is this the usual method.I figured the trailer should be level for the fridge and for cooking etc, just guessing mind you as my combicool fridge has to be fairly level and this fridge is of similar constuction.

To anynoe unsure of set up the "kitchen" it is permanately secured to the back of the trailer so whatever angle the trailer is at the kitchen will follow.

Secondly how the *ell do you reach the ridge pole to Zip the roof part of the awning on without the aid of a giant or a step ladder??

Unfortunately the manual that came with the unit was in Danish but i believe the English version is on it's way.

A big thank you to anyone that can assist us.

put a washing line prop in your trailer and when zipping it up if you tie the zip tag on you shouldnt have to much straining to do.

Don't know whether its any help, but I level our trailer tent with wooden blocks under the wheels and corner steadies.

You have to level the unit, as you would with any caravan. this can be done with ramps. Once levelled, you can then use wheel chocks front and back underneath the outside edge of the living area.

The worst plots are the ones which have a lump of soil on them.

Re: the zip - Once the main awning (minus side panels) is attached, never unattach it!. Simply pull it back over the top of the main frame when packing away. You will, however, need an extra pole, preferably with a (blunt!) spiked end to push the zip cover over the zip in order to prevent the wet stuff that falls from the sky from getting through.

Also, pull the extn poles out before tesioning the main frame - that way they slide in/out more easily and you don't need to grow an extra tall youth to reach it.
