Hiya
We are considdering getting a trailer tent and getting rid of caravan. Now my question will a camp site that says tents only except a trailer tent. Our reason for this change is that we can store a trailer tent easier than a caravan
Many thanks for your thoughts in advance
Terry

Ask them. Some sites call a trailer tent a tent, some call it a caravan. Some call a folding camper a caravan and others call it a tent. You will get many answers. The only real way is to contact the site you wish to go to

It depends on the site.  Some say no caravans as the access is poor.  Some don't have flat pitches, or are prone to waterlogging so a car pulling a caravan can wreck the grass.  Others that don't accept caravans will accapt TTs & FCs beacuse they are esentially tents when up.  Others say caravans & motorhomes only, as they have concrete or tarmac hardstanding, so a TT will not be able to peg down.  A folding camper however can go up without pegs.  Ring to confirm if unsure.  If they don't want tents, you have a folfding caravan - look it has wheels, if they don't want caravans, you have a trailer tent - look it is made of fabric!

Ditto the above but I have found that if they say tents only they usually mean it. Good luck if you decide to change the caravan for a TT. We went from caravan to folding camper last year and are now enjoying our camping again (even going on non electric sites)

Exactly what I was going to say. Plus a TT is far easier and more economical to tow than a caravan.  My mum & Dad did it the opposite way round, went from a TT to a caravan.  They're both in their 70's now, Mum says she'd go back to a TT tomorrow but Dad wont have any of it.

We have just gone from a caravan to a folding caravan, this was because we could no longer store a real caravan.  So we still have a proper tin caravan when it's up but the luxury of only storing a trailer.  Maybe that would be another option to think about.

The sites we are/have been too class out Folding Camper as a Tent. The general feeling is if it is canvass it is a tent.

Our Fiesta tows a dream and fits in our single garage with space to spare.

Good luck!
