had mine from this place from the seconds section good to.When it was realy wet we had a piece of sheeting under it where we had the table for food and stuff.Did the job.
I have been thinking about changing my crunchy blue tarp floor (with a few picnic blankets for the kids to play on) for a nice soft breathable groundsheet. I do have a few queries though, are they as warm as a tarp as they wouln't keep drafts out and how do they cope in wet weather?
As yet I haven't been to a site that insisted upon the breathable sort so its not really an issue in that respect but I just don't like the crunchyness of a tarp and by the time I buy another couple of picnic blanets I could have almost bought a goundsheet as the 2nds on that site (linked above) certainly make it more affordable.
We bought one of these but found when it rains mud just squeezes up through the breathable weave. So now we just use it as a carpet over our normal groundsheet. So it's turned out to be a rather an expensive carpet!?!
you could always do what we do...put a groundsheet/tarp down first then the breathable on top...nice an warm an soft and mud and water free...lol....just a thought!..

Eh, does'nt that defeat the purpose...

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

I've always put off this as I too have had plenty of wet pitches. We are booked on a site in the New Forest in August that insists on them, so I guess we'll need to take the plunge.
Hi again Steve , dont know if you have been to Red Shoot before , but I almost stayed there once, the unit's were far to close for my comfort by close I mean the guy ropes were crossing from the next tent and not a lot of allocated space was available, if you require a bit more space you might want to try Hillside camp site near Verwood its about £12 a night it's about 2o miles from Red Shoot but still within touching distance of the New Forest and also Moors Valley Park is close to both sites if you have children or even if you dont it's very nice
Thanks for that! Just goes to prove that the reviews aren't always right, they seemed good on here. Have paid a non-returnable deposit now, so stuck. Only 5 nights though so we'll give it a go.
Sorry m8ty, it may have changed now,,,hope it has , just put us off the day we drove in there...ended up at Hollands wood to which we returned for 2 yrs till we discovered Ashurst, to which we stayed at for 15yrs till it changed hands to C&CC going back this year...and will do a review upon our return...
