Hi,

We are collecting our Cabanon Atlantis today, and then going straight to a camping site to try her out for the weekend. Having only ever camped in tents before, we are very excited, and would appreciate any advice that anyone can give us regards these TT's. I understand they are quite big, and as a rough guide, any ideas how long it will take to put up.

We seem to have been incredibly lucky, as the TT comes with practically everything we could need to go camping,  Just going to take pillows and sleeping bags, but, I do get cold when camping, but does the TT make it warmer as you are off the ground, (OH thinks it would) or should I still take a blanket?

Also we are hoping to go to one of the sites in Stratford that will accept our pooch as well. I have looked on the forum, and there seems to be two nice ones, but as always any advice gratefully accepted.

Thankyou

Soaplady

Hi there,

We managed with just pillows and sleeping bags last summer as it does seem to be warmer when you're in the trailer section. but...different people feel the cold differently, so I would take a blanket with you in case you have a chilly night - or fleecy pyjamas!!  We invested in two foam mattresses cut to the size of the sleeping compartments for comfort and extra warmth - they fit on top of the tent, under the cover.

We have a Cabanon Jupiter, and it takes us about 2 hours to get everything up (it is a large trailer tent) ready to peg down.  I would take a small stool or caravan steps because the tent can be quite high at the centre, when you are putting the frame together and pulling the awning over.  Even my OH used it and he's over 6 feet.  They are also useful for an easy entry into the sleeping compartment.

Get a large funnel (from Tesco or the Poundshop and use this to put under your sink so that your washing up water goes straight into your waste water container - feels like home from home then!!

Hope this helps.  Have a good weekend

Judith
