Hi

I have bought a raclet marathon tt which i think is 1999 or 2000. The peoplI bought it off were nice and appeared genuine. Main bedroom bit seems ok though a little wonky :(. When we put the framework up for the Awning, after much confusion, it just seems flimsy and not sturdy. I read that this model was supposed to be quality. The problem is I'm not sure whether it's just me not used to it as have never done this before and it is meant to wobble a bit til the awning cover is on and secured down!!!!!!!!. Please advise.

Mant thanks Mandy

hi when you put the frame up and then put the awning cover on you then need to tension the poles within the awning frame after you have pegged the awning down also put the guide ropes out after retensioning the poles so you will get it quite sturdy  i used to have a raclet but  could nevr get the roof of the awning and main part to align perfectly ie straight across but we didnt have any probs if you go on ebay you can often pick up the instruction manual on a cd or if you ask the dealer s neaest to you they should be able to get the manual for hope this helps andy

Everything in a TT wobbles untill it's pegged down tight and the tensioners are all tensioned correctly. The stability comes from all the elements of frame, canvas, pegs and guylines working together.

Thank you both for your advice. I must say I feel a lot more confident now with it I think lack of knowledge and experience in my case could have put me rite off the idea. Gonna have another go putting it up today and then start looking for nice scenic quiet sites especially where no-one can see me making a fool of myself trying to get it up!!!

Many thanks again     Mandy

we have a raclet herald and i must admit that it takes a bit of time to get everything nice a straight. but once it is up and pegged out all should be ok.
we have the 1.2m extension on ours and i've put a storm pole up to take a bit of the strain of all the canvas.
we just take our time and don't rush.....
