Thing is we did exactly the same before. Had a nice Relum frame tent, saw a Pennine Pathfinder FC at the same dealer, bought that (new) 9 grand all in, then sold it when we moved to a smaller house. So been down this route before, and really need discipline to say "that's it, this does us" without getting up ourselves again.
But I still can't help thinking that a TT like the Trig does give some enhancement over tenting (sound of giving myself a slap)
We went from a tent to a flip-over quick-up TT. Arrived at a site at the same time as a caravan. They had their mugs of tea and sat watching us while we were still fiddling. Now we are trying not to move from canvas to white plastic!!!!!!!

Definitely human nature - we've just bought a quick-up Jamet trailer tent but I keep thinking should we have gone for the Trigano. I know that in the shop, we decided the trigano is too big for us & is not quite as quick & easy to erect as it makes out, but i) you always want more, and in particular ii) you always want what you haven't got!
------------- The glass is always half full - unless it's wine and then it's usually empty!
I suppose its what you mean by "upgrading "
I've currently got a static, and a Conway Cardinal, but definitely enjoyed far better holidays in my old Raclet frame tent......sadly now the dodgy back and creaking bones are screaming out for a bit of confort !
We had an excellent Kyham tent which we upgraded to a Cabanon trailer tent from. The beauty of the trailer, was that when packed properly we could leave most camping stuff in the trailer itself. This led to better space in the car and subsequently more convenient for a quick weekend away etc. The Cabanon Atlantis DL TT stored easily in the garage and towed a dream. Nice thing was sleeping on a decent mattress, off the floor (an age thing, no doubt ).
I started off with a vango 500, then the commanche montana. I have now been enchated by eribas and i can see me owning a used model in the next 12 months lol im scared to think what will be after that, probably bancrupcy.
------------- The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.
