I'm afraid you may have wasted your money. The whole idea of towing on an A frame is that they are only for recovery of a broken down vehicle. The car counts as a trailer, & a Smart comes in at around 750Kg. If the A frame is not braked it is not allowed as it exceeds the allowable limit for an un-braked trailer. The braked ones don't meet the regs either. Your insurance is invalid. Never heard of anyone being done, but this has cropped up a number of times. See HERE
