What sort of site

 what location

What facilities

The more you want the more it costs

So, away from major holiday areas will reduce  the cost,  less facilities will reduce the cost.

If this is still to much then take a look at joining Camping and Caravan Club  Under £40.00 per year for membership and book one of the Temporary Holiday sites.  Usually priced per unit £5 - £15 per night well run and sometimes entertainment on. They can be anything from a field on a farm to a rally field on one of the major sites.  You may need your own toilet and washing   facilities.  But what you spend on setting up will be less than booking a site in Cornwall in August.  This year already done a week at £6.50 per night and have two weeks book in August £6.00 per night on the coast.

As there is nowt useful about THS on the CCC website it may be worth going to a local CCC site and asking to see what is available.when and where you want to be, then calculate if joining is a valid option for you.

We are a family of 6, so know all too well how expensive a pitch can be when they price it per person, awning, dog etc. but dont worry, there are still lots of sites around that charge per pitch.

So far this year (and we go away alot) we have paid no more than £15 per night, and these have been at sites that do have toilets/showers etc. and indeed many having swimming pools, play parks for the kids, clubs etc.

Its just a case of looking around, even in Cornwall you can get well priced sites (last year we paid £11 per night inc ehu in August, 2 weeks at 2 different sites), so  dont  think that the only place that you can stay is a field with a tap.

Just keep searching and you will find what you are after, good luck :o)

All depends on where you want to stay, we are paying £28 per night in august at a site in the new forest. This site has everything though and it includes EHU. We only go to sites where you pay per person if we havent got our 2 monsters with us ( 2 lil girls) and trust me that dont happen very often.

Just keep searching i am sure you will find a decent place well within your budget.

I think Ray means the Wingfiled Arms, Montford Bridge.  It has changed its name back.  It is about 5 miles outside Shrewsbury.

We have started using cl sites.  You do have to be a member of the CCC,  have found them very reasonably priced, most of them charge per pitch, not per person.

Hi Paula - if you want electric hook up it might be harder to find but we've been to a couple in N Wales that have charged per pitch - have a look at my site reviews
