I Had'nt heard about the fog light though but most trailer boards have them fitted now. But a GB sticker or euro regstration plate for the trailer to match the car , A Spare wheel (& Jack) , warning triangle, day glo vest for driver - must be worn if you get out of the car on the highway , a spare bulb kit for both car and trailer must also be carried, all compulsory in France. And headlight deflectors for RHD cars too of course. I'd also recommend membership of UK recovery service (ie AA/RAC etc etc) with continental cover and carrying a mobile phone programmed with thier number. Also carry a bit of cash : the French police impose on the spot fines! not the english "sin now - pay later" system.
