Hi me again,
I have a 12volt Whale water pump system in my Trailer tent but I dont have a lesiure battery or a second hookup on my car for the 12 volt 7 pin plug.
I was wondering if there is anything that exists like an adapter to plugin to the mains and it gives 12v out or if you get 240v conversion kits ?
Any help pointing in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

We've discussed this before on here. Some (most/all?) of the 240v-12v converters struggle with the startup current on a water pump and blow the fuse.

The converters typically have a lighter type socket on them, so you'd have to make up a cable with a lighter plug at one end I guess and either wire it permanently to the water pump switch or run it outside and put a 12S socket on the end.

If your TT has somewhere for a battery it might be easier to get one!

Hi

I converted the supply to a Camplet Concorde and used a 240/12v transformer. I soldered wires to the + and - ends of the battery box and attached a lighter plug at the other end. I had no problems with fuses going but if you did it is possible to buy this size of fuse in higher ampages which would be able to take higher currents safely.

fitting a higher rated fuse is a no no you want the lowest amp rated fuse you can get away with.
fitting a higher rated one than the one recomended could result in a fire in the wiring etc what next a bit of tinfoil round the fuse?

My 12V water pump works without the battery in situ. I just have to leave the charger on the consumer unit on.

We have a 2004 Fiesta.
