Yup , only ever owned one Dandy with a working lock & keys. My current one still has a key snapped in the lock. Solution is to keep all valubles in the locked car or on your person. Rather have an unlocked Dandy than a slashed side panel. Same goes when you see a padlock on a tent zip. To me that just screams " I GOT LOADS OF VALUABLE GEAR IN HERE" . Luckily on most decent sites thefts are very rare.
