The illuminated switch on the top of the PM54 unit controls the built in battery charger in the power management unit.
When hooked up to the mains, the PM54 unit sends 240v to the 3 pin sockets. Leaving the battery to supply the 2 pin 12v sockets on its own. So, if you say plugged in a 12v TV, it would kill the battery PDQ.
But to use the battery charging facilty built into the module to charge the leisure battery, (basically to run the 12v sockets off the mains via the battery) to power the hypothetical TV, set the car/ van selector switch below the battery condition meter on the electrical control panel next to the door to "van" and set the illuminated switch to the "on" position (lit) to engage the charging circuit.
