This can be repaired as it's only box section steel

A good welder should be able to do it using MIG or TIG,definatly something I would do as these things are easy to strip down

Most back street garages can do this,  get round several, take photos ask how much.  As it's not normal car work prices will differ.  But  I think you will find one at the right price.

don't destroy it, if the rest of it is ok then the chassis is repairable, if you don't want to put any more money in then give it to someone that would, but don't give it to any one you know, as when they have spent a few hundred pounds on it and are still using it in 10 years you will be even more p**ss*d off.

Try the folks on the Dandy Riva Forums - I'm sure they'll have some good ideas.

Hi Palo

MIG and TIG are a form of electric welding that uses localised heat as apposed to gas welding that heats up everything

MIG is what most garages use know, look out for a DIY mechanic who may have a welder of his own and may take on the job

You are covered for this by E Bay.  Have you lodged a complaint?  If the thing a was not as described you should be entitled to your money back.  I did this once for a set of DVDs that turned out to be dodgey Chinese copies.  Money was back within a week & they took Police action on the seller.  he was thrown off E Bay.  However, as already said, A Dandy is a fairly simple beast to work on.  the frame is box section steel.  it can all be got at, so can be cut out & welded.  If the fabric is waterproof it may well be worth getting it welded up.

Steve.
