We got swopped our trialer tent for a folding camper last year - great move - so much easier as everything is inside. Ours is an ancient wind up one which is really easy to put up.
As for being cramped with a family of four - not really. i am not saying that it is very spacious inside the main body but not cramped either. Last year it was so wet most days that even the awning didn't appeal, so we spend loads of time sitting in the camper itself. Just sat at the table playing games, or on the beds.
OK I've not towed ours due to the fact that my poor little Saxo couldn't pull it - but Richard says that it is easy to pull.
Yes we still have our tents, but Richard loves sleeping off the floor, as he tends ot get arthritis.
