Hi,

After a wet holiday in a tent in France we have decided to buy a Trailer tent.  But which one??  Can you help us decide?

Went to Camperlands yesterday and they specialise in the Trigano range.  They look very impressive but would appreciate any views on them.  The TT Oceane was the one we were taken by.

We are, 2 adults plus 2 girls (12 & 14) - we aim to use it in France or Spain so a huge awning is not necessary but a decent size sun canopy would be essential.

Also, we must be able to erect the cabin part on its own very quickly as we will need to use it for overnight stops.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

Martin

I guess its all a matter of your own personal taste.

why not ask the staff at camperlands if you can have a practice tryout of erecting the unit as I am sure they oblige in these matters. they let me try out a folding camper last year but I found it too much trouble.

Why not go the whole hog and go for a folding camper?. I had a Marachel TT for many years but got fed up with the pegging, if you are looking at overninghting, then you dont want to be messing around with pegs. On a folding camper such as the pennine or the conway the cabin is ready for use in seconds. There is no hassle in opening them, the newer ones have gas powered struts, mine doesn't and I have no trouble even on my own.Much more comfortable inside too. Have I sold you on the Idea yet?

I agree with blues. We bought a Raclet TT in 2003 and then upgraded to a FC in 2004. It took longer to put up the TT than our old Frame Tent. If you use the search button you will see that most people are pleased with what ever version they have got, it's all a case of finance and personal choice. When you have made your choice shop around for a good deal.

The main body of an Oceane is fairly quick and simple to erect. The awning takes a little longer but speeds up with practise. We have found that the smaller extension is ideal for overnight stops. If you are considering a TT, take a look at the free ads - you may save some money compared to buying new.

Although we now have a caravan we still have our Trigano Chantilly which is excellent. Awning does take a time to erect although once the poles are properly labelled and with practice its not too bad. Probably much the same with all TT's.

After a week or so back from our summer hols in our Raclet TT we needed a bit of a fix so visited several local dealers over the weekend to check out any deals that may be going, not that I will change my TT yet but it's nice to look.

We saw the Oceane on display with sun canopy & were very impressed, some good deals available at the moment. It's worth shopping around, it may save you a few ££££'s

Try a Dandy, They have an insulated roof to help keep you cool in the heat of Spain and the main unit goes up PDQ!

Thanks everyone for all your help.

We have decided to buy a Trigano after looking at them again today - so if you know anyone with one for sale please look in the 'wanted' section for our advert.

Thanks again.

Martin
