Hi all

We have had from new a 2003 Pennine Sterling with awning and extras but have been looking at Combi-Camp and Camp-Let trailer tents.

Has anyone else gone from a folding camper to one of these trailer tents and if so share what they have thought of both units, the reason I ask is the Sterling is great don't get me wrong and the main unit does go up quite quick but when you want the awning and you do need this if its more than say one night as there are 3 of us (my son aged 14) this adds another half hour onto the setup so from start to finish it takes about 1 hour.

The trailer tents I mention seem to be very quick going up and all the poles fro the awning are already attached according to the Camperlands video but not sure if it is as comphy and warm as the Sterling when sitting inside of a night.

They do look good and it would depend on their cost and what PX I would get for the Sterling

Any information would be appreciated not sure if its just because we have had it 6 years I mam looking for a change or it would be easier with something lighter and quicker to put up.

thanks for your replies and helping make up our minds to keep what we have, we will still go and see them and and you say spend some time checking the comfort size and to see if we could get everything in that we take now but at the end of the day spending a little extra time setting up maybe worth the extra comfort

One thing you have to consider is how much longer your son will be coming with you. At some stage he will decide that it is no longer 'cool' to holiday with you. You could then use just the main unit for yourselves.

I agree that you will miss the comfort if you do decide to change.
