went to a festival weekend before last - no EHU thought we'd be fine as last year we easily ran for the three days just on 12v. All staretd off fine but within a few hours the battery indicator showed the battery to be dropping rapidly from the full position and that was without anything being on. By the mornng of day 2 no power  indicator in the red!

Got it home and connected it to mains within a couple of hours battery indicator full. I then left it all week and opened the door and connected something to the 12v yesterday battery still showing full with no discernable drop.

My question is this what on earth could have been going on? why did it run from full to flat like that? I couldn't see that anything was switched on to be draining it. We do have a faulty 12v connection for that tap sink that we have to wobble to get the tap to work- could this be doing some damage draining the battery?

I'm no electrician and would bow to someone else who had a more plausible answer, however, to me, it seems as though your faulty tap connection is because of a loose wire somewhere and its shorting out aganst something and that loose wire is then draining your battery.
