I really want a TT but as we are getting married next year not sure if we could afford one!!

What sort of money would get a half decent one? Would really like new but can't afford that!

Still get married but as lisabuff said don't fall for the commercial moneypit of a wedding. It is after all just a few hours of one day of your life. We got married on a shoestring 22 years ago and are still happily married long after others 'more expensive' marriages fell apart. As long as your both happy about what you decide just stuff what everyone else thinks, it is your day after all.

And honeymoon in the TT. 17

our wedding cost under a grand, but I called in a massive number of favours to get a band and the catering done.

You should be able to get a 2-3 year old TT for around a grand. Look on ebay for an idea.

Some TTs really keep their value (CombiCamp, Camplet) and so are a less good idea on a serious budget. Some TTs (Sunncamp, Raclet) were inexpensive to start with so you can get a good 'un for not much, and some (Trigano, Conway, Jamet) are somewhere in between.

I would look for a Raclet. You should be able to get a decent Acropolis or Hex under 10 years old for a few hundred. I'm sure you can shave that off your wedding budget!

Is is worth putting (money towards) one on your wedding list? There's always the odd competitive auntie!

We went to Wales on out honeymoon and the old Raclet did us proud. Frankly, we were just married - Wales or the Bahamas wouldn't have made any difference!

As others have suggested, cut the cost of the wedding and put the money towards the TT.

We got married two years ago (today!!) from a field!  We had mains, but no other facilities (OK - we have caravans, but we could have dome it all from trailer-tents - we used to have them, so we know what's possible!).  I had a friend do the hair (bride, 2 bridesmaids, mother of the bride, 3 friends and her own, in a caravan awning, in 3 hours - what a star!!), another friend did the make-up, I made the dresses, my next-door-neighbour did the flowers, we hired a coach to take all of us from the site to the registry office and back (biggest expense of the day), a friend and I did the catering, we had a party in a big party tent in the field and we used an i-Pod and speakers for the music.  It was great fun and the whole day cost less then £1000!!

Wedding is on a budget anyway - I can't be spending (wasting) that much money on 1 day! As we've been together 10yrs it's not like the "fairytale/whirlwind" thing! We are not having a wedding gift list just going to ask for people to donate to the local Greyhound Trust-they need it more than we do.

OH did have a thing for the Camplets but I took him to see a Raclet and Cabanon and think I have converted him! I love the ease of erection of the Camplet but just not the style for me.

Maybe next year after the wedding we can see how much money we have left to get a half decent one - I do keep looking at Ebay but you never can really tell by the pictures of the quality of the unit.

why not get a tatty but working one for a bit? So long as it doesn't die spectacularly you can alwys sell it again on fleabay.

Somebody mentionned that Discover in Yorkshire take any old TT in part-ex, and occasionally flog off the ones they can't be bothered to tart up for a fiver no questions. Worth looking at?
