Hi, thanks in advance for any replies.  I'm new to camping, just in the process of getting camping gear for next year but just wonder please can you let me know if a tent needs or should have a ground sheet under it even it if has a built in ground sheet?  Hope this makes sense?

Hi, you are on the wrong page I'm afraid, this is all trailer tent stuff..  You'll get more replies HERE.  From my experience, it makes no difference.  What you will do is keep the mud off your groundsheet if it is messy.  You'll still have a groundsheet to clean though.

I found it handy to have a footprint groundsheet with our Vango tent.  It was useful to lay it down on the pitch to work out the best place to site the tent.  When packing up it was good for folding the tent on especially if the ground was wet.  You have to make sure that it is completely covered by the tent  though otherwise it catches water and channels it underneath,
