Over the weekend, the wife made us a nice of jacket spud and steak and we settled down to watch the X Factah. I put my plate on the floor and after a few glasses of red forgot to pick up the plate before bedtime. The plate had a few morsels of fat on it. Next morning, the plate was clean!!! No sign of any intrusion whatsoever.
Mice. Set lots of traps - the kind that snap the mice in half. Humaine ones just pass them on to someone else. Find the holes where they are getting in & block them with foam filler with steel wool in with it as they can't chew through that. Wash all kitchen surfaces & utensils before cooking or eating. Mice are incontinent & piddle everywhere.
Ah, thought you were at home. On our last camping trip I had to get up in the night & found a whirling dervish in the awning!! It raced around & around until it found a way out underneath the bed of our camper. It was small & black so i don't think it was a fox, presume it was a cat. I'd left some dry dog food in a bowl so expect it was interested in that,
We've had hedgehogs & toads in our awning. When in Derbyshire in August I nearly stood on a Newt just outside. When I was in the USA I ran overnight camps from a big Jewish Summer camp. We were right out in the woods in upstate New York & there were wild dogs & bears up there. All food, sweets, toothpaste etc. gets put in inside plastic containers then a bag & hoisted up a tall tree at night well away from the tents. One night the bag was brought down & there were footprints with big claws & teeth marks in the plastic containers. Not sure what got in there. Didn't want to find out! Did wonder why it was in TT section!
Someone somwhere on t'internet is doing these at 25 quid at the moment, I saw it the other day, but can't remember where. Wouldn't be without ours and they don't trip the leccy either, even when you've got other stuff on.
When I was gainfully employed by the Ambulance Service you could leave £50 and a jewel encrusted gold watch on the mess room table and they would still be there two weeks later,,,if you left a half eaten sandwich or any other kind of food and went to make a cup of tea on your return it would be gone whether there was anyone else on station or not !!!
