Buying Trailertents on the internet auction sites...  BEWARE !! there is a lot of overpriced junk out there. If you bid and win insist on seeing the whole tent up or at least inspect all the canvas and pole work before parting with your hard earned. Check all the zips, Check the canvas for mildew/bird poo/tears in the canvas etc. If it's an older model or a brand no longer imported you will struggle to get spares so ask for a frame diagram and check the awning poles are all present, not bent, corroded, broken welds etc.. take your time.

Quite often people will purchase a unit on the basis the cabin is in good condition without a thorough inspection of or even bothering to look at the awning.Warning!

The awning is difficult to dry as it need to be spread out and thoroughly dried, some people dont bother or do the job properly.. Net result is cabin ok but awning full of mildew.

Better to walk away from a wreck rather than a wedge of your cash !.

I am selling my trailer tent on e*** and I can assure you it is a genuine sale and in excellent condition. If it does not sell no problem I will keep it and try again in the spring. I have bought some wonderful products, value for money and in excellent condition off e***. As with sales anywhere you just need to be careful and watch what you are buying. Cloudryer I do hope you haven't had a bad experience after buying a TT.....

I'd not buy a car/caravan/tt or tent unless i'd seen it up and taken time to inspect it thoroughly before parting with my cash.

Given that the OP has "150+ Trailertents in stock!!" I would guess he is a dealer feeling the pinch but there is nothing wrong with his advice.

I think your right there OP/Camper Lands, is giving a good warning, but there is also some very good deals on that well known on line auction site

Also, if you want a cheap TT, e*** is exactly the right place to look for it.

However good any dealer is, even a certain very big one is in Manchester, they will have a bottom line of profit to make, so you will pay far too far over the odds for an cheap and cheerful TT.

If you want a new or decent 2nd hand one, that's a different story. But if you want to spend £100 on something which will last a couple of years, e*** it is.

Besides, everybody gets all het up over mildew. It's just mildew, for crying out loud. It's mould which sticks to and grows on dirt. It ruins the look but as long as you give the canvas a good clean now and again it neither makes it smell or rot.

Have purchased two folding campers from ebay ,Have had no problems at all , and been very pleased with both of them . After looking at some of the very high prices that the dealers are asking ,it would seem to me that they are also the ones to watch out for or else you will be paying well over the odds .One other point is that most of the high high prices on ebay are actualy dealers posing as private sellers. Given the choice I will  always buy private ,how many people can say they had a bargain from a dealer ? not many .
