The title says it all really. We've just got back from a week in the Cotswolds in our '99 Pennine Pullman and had a great time.

Got the camper in August from a seller in Gloucestershire and had a couple of nights in Malvern to get used to it. Then we had a week in North Norfolk at the beggining of September and now this week just gone in Broadway. Great site, nice flat hardstanding pitches but a bit of noise from the road.

We were a little worried about keeping warm at this time of year but had good weather, electric hook up and a fan heater, thermals and fleece blankets and we had no problems at all. Lovely and cosy. I'm not hardy enough to try it in a tent though.

Easy to hitch up and tow, quick to put up and down (didn't bother with the awning this week and didn't miss it) and already planning for next year.

But the best thing about it is it has really extended our season. We are not planning to go away again until probably Easter but this is more down to available holidays rather than the weather (which would have been an issue for us in a tent).

Just thought I'd let you all know. I love my camper!

Well done! you're very brave to go this late in the season, I'm really glad it worked out so well for you.

I keep toying with the idea of an f/c. I had a Camplet but couldn't put it up on my own and hubby doesn't like camping. I sold that this year and bought an Icarus 500 tent but the car ends up jam packed and I miss the ease of the Camplet. Have you given up on tent camping altogether now you've got the f/c? Do you think I could manage to put an f/c up by myself - female young(ish) and fit(ish)?

We have a 2004 pathfinder which I can manage to put up on my own (not the awning though) but I couldn't do it if it didn't have the gas struts. The Pullman was even easier.

Yes, we've given up tents now. Loved camping in it but didn't like packing the car and also the thought that after putting up the tent itself there was still all the other stuff to put up and then the thought that you had to cram it all back into the car at the end of the holiday put a bit of a damper on things.

I find the Pullman easy enough to put up but I am 6ft 2in so can manage to pull over the beds without much difficulty. I think that the Conway Countryman types are easier though. My wife is perfectly capable of pulling the camper around to line it up or move it on site so I don't think that would be a problem for you.

We went to a local dealer before we bought ours and had a good look round them and then checked out all the posts on this forum. At the end of the day the thing I was most worried about was towing and that turned out to be easy. Show your hubby some of the ones with lots of pictures on fleabay and see if you can't change his mind

Jolly good idea to see what they have got.

But do shop around to get the best prices, won't you...

My mrs bought our pennine Fiesta on a impulse buy[would have been a lot cheaper buying a pr of shoes].

I took some while getting to like it ,but now i love it ,easy to tow ,sits in the garage, can use it on Hardstanding ,big enough to use without erecting the awning for the those quick wkd getaways.17

Now i have got SHMBO to tow too,she says its a doddle and dosnt know why she worried about it .17
