I have a Cabanon Neptune, and wondered if anyone had come up with an innovative solution to make the 'Kitchen' easier to move? It's really a two person job to move at the moment, and my wife has a permanent back injury so I'd like to make it a one person job if possible.
But if its that heavy won't there be problems pushing the unit even on wheels? Our Kitchen unit was heavy and needed 2 to move it and that was on our 20+ year old Conway Contiki. I doubt it would have moved very well on grass with a groundsheet.
It may be of help to look at

We have an Astro and the kitchen has wheels, at one end, that lower using the wheel brace, and supports that come down from the other end.
It is the relatively simple to manoeuvre the unit like a wheel barrow, even though it contains the fridge, gas bottle and cooker.
This was one of the points that attracted us to the Astro as we are both in our 70's and less fit than of yore.
I'm so jealous - where did you get a holtkamper from?! I have a raclet and can't move the kitchen alone (single parent with 4 yr old) so am thinking of buying either a pennine aztec or fiesta so I don;t have to move the kitchen.
Not sure my budget will run to a holtkamper though!
Thank you Stuart. This has given me great food for thought. I had imaged replacing the legs with an alternative, but your link has given me the idea of adding some wheels in some fashion. I have the winter to invent my contraption :)
If you were to replace your tent, you could always get a raclet with the smaller kitchen. They hook onto the back door, and are easy for one person to lift.
Or, you could get whatever kitchenless TT takes your fancy and put a Raclet kitchen on it.

Have you thought of Camplet? The kitchen just swings out from the back and remains attached to the body of the trailer. No lifting at all.
TVS in bolton have the Conway kitchen wheeled legs, they should fit Cabanons as they are cheap foreign copies of the great british Conway! (note for lawyers, just joking). £25 a pair, though my old Conway Spirit (made by cabanon) had 4 wheels and it made life a lot easier.
