We recently went to look at some TT's at Mitchells in Wakefield and were very impressed with what we saw. We were, however, surprised when the very helpful assistant told us that the TT's they stocked, Conway and Cabanon, are actually made by the same people, one makes the canvas and one makes the trailer. Has anyone come across this before?
We were very impressed with the Conway Classic Trio which was priced around £3200, is this a good price? We had considered buying 2nd hand but decided that this is going to be a long term investment and the extra cost of buying new will be worth it in the end.
Loving the site!

We've got a Cabanon "Evasion II" with the extra 1m extension (identical I think to the to the current "Mistral" excepting canvas colours) with extras such as sun canopy sides, wind down stabilisers, large fridge box on front of trailer, carry rack for cycles or top box. The cost for this would be in excess of £3600 - ours is Sep 2001, used 5 times and in superb condition and about to be offerred for £1895 ... pity you don't live nearer Southampton ! There are some really good savings to be made by buying units like this versus the cost new from a dealer - unfortunately we couldn't find a good 2nd hand one when we were looking to buy. Would certainly recommend Cabanon/Conway - quality is very good and I suspect it's worth paying for this in the long run if you intend to trailer tent for many years.
Thanks for that Ian. I have looked but nothing 'good' seems to come up in our area! Yours sounds a real bargain, I'm sure someone will bite your hand off.
I think we will end up going for the conway, we've got a while to save up anyway!!
Thanks for the advise.

Yes I have heard this. I read in Camping Magazine that Cabanon make the canvas for Conway. This would make sense as I have owned a Cabanon tent, and currently own a Conway trailer tent(which is getting on a bit!). I can honestly say that the canvas has been 100% on both and never given a problem.
Can't give advice on what to spend. Trailer tents seem to be quite expensive new,and although I would only really want a Conway/Cabanon, I believe some other makes are a bit cheaper.
